Excruciating pain, pricking and burning, occasional bleeding from rectum, itching in the anal region etc. are some of the major symptoms of anal fissure. This disease can recur again after certain time interval. Recurrence of Anal fissure results in chronicity of disease and a skin tag develops as a result. This is a small skin tag hanging outside the anal orifice. It is usually seen in the patients of chronic Anal Fissure. Usually this tag is painless but when inflamed; it may have swelling and pain.
Lateral Sphincterotomy or anal dilation is the surgery recommended by the surgeons for treating anal fissure. Recurrence and incontinence of stools are the post operative complications.
Whereas in Ayurveda; Anal fissures are treated without surgery by Kshar Karma Therapy. Kshar Karma is repeated at weekly interval. Kshar Karma helps in complete healing of anal fissure. Generally Anal fissure gets healed in 3-6 weekly therapies depending on severity of problem.

3. Keep the anal region clean.
Question 7 - Can Ayurveda treatment cure 100% fissure disease?
Answer - Yes, Ayurveda treatment is 100% effective in curing anal fissure. As said earlier complete healing of fissure cut cut require 3-6 Kshar Karma sittings according to severity of problem. Patient starts feeling improvement within few days of using Ayurvedic medicines. He assumes that problem is solved and discontinues the treatment. But at this time fissure cut is only in healing state NOT COMPLETELY HEALED. Fissure cut remains in dormant state to reappear again when there is an episode of constipation. This incomplete treatment is the reason for chronicity of disease and development of skin tag.
So it is recommended that patient should continue the treatment as per the advice of Doctor. He needs to follow the instructions of doctor until doctor confirms that cut in anal canal is completely healed.
